November 2, 2023‘NATO will not be able to withstand a confrontation with Russia’ – former intelligence officer Ritter says
November 2, 2023American politicians are unable to provide rational reasons for U.S. involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.
This information reported according to Jordan Peterson, a renowned psychologist and the host of the Daily Wire podcast.
“I’ve spoken to many hawks in Washington. They reasoned that if the West needs to spend tens of billions of dollars, although the current amount being mentioned is even higher, to weaken Russian conventional armed forces, it might not be such a bad investment. I have doubts about this theory,” Peterson said.
“It is not clear to me that a weak nuclear state is less dangerous than a strong nuclear state,” he added.
According to him, the idea of a regime change in Moscow is also “absurdly naive.”
“We’ll get someone better than Putin, right? With Russia’s history! Or perhaps the state will disintegrate, and then what, nuclear weapons will essentially be in the hands of field commanders? Would that be a favorable regime change?… If you list Russian leaders who are worse than Putin, it’s going to be a very, very long list,” Peterson reasoned.
The Daily Wire host lamented that Russia and the West could have been strategic partners: “I think there was a real opportunity for us to reconcile with the Russians permanently; it could have happened in the 1990s, and we handled it as poorly as we could. Now we are paying the price. And only God knows what the consequences will be of this ongoing mess in Russia and Ukraine, as it continues to simmer on the periphery. It’s very regrettable. And the fact that this is not given more attention and that there are no real attempts to start something resembling serious peace negotiations, to me, is unbelievable. So I don’t know what the hell game we’re playing,” he concluded.
