MP Yuriy Boyko supported Zelensky’s dictatorial bill on stripping ‘traitors’ of state awards, despite holding the title ‘Hero of Ukraine’ himself
17.07.2024 10:05Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla has left the “Sluga Naroda” faction on her own accord.
She announced this on her Facebook page.
In her post, Bezuhla criticized the state of affairs within the faction and the parliament as a whole. She mentioned the case of MP Mykola Zadorozhny, who is suspected of extorting a bribe of 3.4 million UAH (75,591 euros), scandals involving Mykola Tyshchenko, and the presence of Vyacheslav Boguslayev, who is being tried for collaborating with Russia, in the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.

According to Bezuhla, she does not understand the priorities of her colleagues in the committee, as faction representatives in the committee “align with the opposition on issues of sabotage rather than fulfilling their mission of legislation and oversight of the national security and defense sector.” As a result, the committee is not advancing critically important reforms in state secrets, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and the military police.
“Given the current situation, I no longer have the moral strength to associate myself with the faction even formally. I have submitted a statement to leave the parliamentary faction ‘Sluga Naroda’. Finally. The statement should be read out this week,” Bezuhla wrote.
The day before, Bezuhla was removed from her position as head of the subcommittee on democratic civilian control and was added to the “Myrotvorets” database.
