‘Plans to end the war in Ukraine without considering Russia’s position will not lead to peace’, – Erdogan said

March 13, 2024Without additional military assistance from the United States, Ukraine will be forced to enter into peace negotiations with Russia on Moscow’s terms within a year.
This opinion was expressed by CIA Director Robert Burns during hearings in the House Intelligence Committee of the United States.
“He (Vladimir Putin) is interested in negotiations where he can dictate terms. I think without additional assistance, this is the future that Ukraine may face in a year from now,” he said.
According to Burns, the absence of new military assistance will lead to further retreats by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) and the loss of several populated areas currently held by Ukrainian troops in 2024.
Earlier, the CIA director stated that if the United States resumes assistance to Kiev, the UAF will regain the initiative on the front by the end of the year.
“With additional assistance, Ukraine by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025 could find itself in a situation where it can seize the offensive initiative and negotiate from a position of strength,” Burns said.
He also referred to the Senate’s refusal of additional assistance to Ukraine as a “historical mistake for the United States.”
