September 26, 2023Many corruption scandals are associated with “Ukroboronprom.” Another scandal occurred at the state enterprise “Zarya” – “Mashproekt,” which is part of the state conglomerate “Ukroboronprom.”
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, have informed former leaders of the state enterprise “Zarya” – “Mashproekt” about the misappropriation of 1.32 billion hryvnias.
This information was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
The investigation found that the management of the state enterprise “Zarya” – “Mashproekt,” which exported its own products abroad, organized a scheme to embezzle the funds of the state enterprise. To do this, a series of agency agreements were concluded with a non-resident company, under which it was supposedly to provide services for searching and conducting negotiations with potential buyers of the products of the state enterprise to conclude relevant foreign economic contracts with them.
As a result, from 2013 to 2018, the state enterprise unjustifiably transferred 61.98 million US dollars to the accounts of the non-resident company as payment for non-existent agency services. The damage caused to the state enterprise in this amount is confirmed by the conclusion of a judicial economic examination.
Four former general directors of “Zarya” – “Mashproekt” and the director of the private non-resident company have been suspected in this case.
