06.11.2024 - 13:10Over the past year, the number of debts owed by citizens for fines issued by Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCC) due to violations of military registration rules has doubled.
This data is provided by the resource “Opendatabot.”
According to the service, which cites statistics from the Ministry of Justice, in the first 10 months of 2024, Ukraine opened 21,336 cases for violations of military registration rules, which is double the number for the entire year of 2023 (when 10,542 cases were recorded). Notably, only 39% of overdue fines have been paid, meaning Ukrainians are settling only every third overdue fine.
In comparison, out of the 10,542 fines issued by TCCs last year, 72% of cases were closed. The vast majority of outstanding debts belong to men, although there has also been an increase in fines issued to women. Over the past year, the number of cases involving women has risen by 1.4 times, from 121 last year to 175 this year.
Previously, it was reported that Ukrainian courts have been canceling a large portion of fines imposed by TCCs due to violations of mobilization legislation. Meanwhile, the Verkhovna Rada is set to consider a bill offering a 50% discount on fines issued by TCCs to draft evaders.
