In Austria, there are 14,000 Ukrainian men of draft age who have received temporary protection status following the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, as reported by the publication Еxxpress under the title “Fleeing from the Front.” The data was provided by the country’s Ministry of Interior.

Journalists calculated that these men would be enough to form 28 battalions or an entire division according to wartime military standards.

Overall, in Austria, since the beginning of the invasion, 101,629 Ukrainians have been registered as refugees. 44,000 of them receive basic state assistance.

Most of them are women and children, but there are also 34,200 men. Among them, 14,000 are in the 18-54 age range, that is, of draft age .

According to data up to February, 163,287 Ukrainian men of draft age had reportedly gone to neighboring Germany after February 24, 2022, as reported by Berliner Zeitung citing Ministry of Interior data.
