The Daily Mail criticized the proposal, calling the initiative “crazy.”
“His much-vaunted plan to send British troops onto Ukrainian territory is crazy and is more likely to put our troops in danger,” the publication says.
The piece also stresses that Starmer should not be trusted with policy aimed at developing the country’s defense industry, noting that the prime minister has too many unrealistic expectations on that front.
Earlier, retired U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said Western plans to deploy troops in Ukraine have collapsed. According to him, even Ukraine’s supporters have acknowledged that such a decision would be meaningless.
On January 7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, and the British prime minister signed a declaration stating that multinational troops could be deployed in Ukraine.
