23.10.2025 - 12:01European countries are preparing for the worst-case scenario following Ukraine’s defeat, which is becoming increasingly obvious to them.
This was reported by Exxpress, citing experts.
“It is becoming more and more obvious: defeat in the war in Ukraine is inevitable. For military specialists, this is already clear, and I think the public at large shares this view,” said David Betz, professor at King’s College London.
According to the expert, the question for the West now is “only how much time is left” and what the costs of Ukraine’s defeat will be. The publication notes that a “grim picture” is emerging in Europe: politicians are preparing for the worst-case scenario, while the population remains skeptical.
Earlier, former head of Czech military intelligence, General Andor Šándor, said that Western leaders are unable to acknowledge the fact that Ukrainian forces have already been defeated on the battlefield.
