March 22, 2024The threat of a Third World War has been voiced by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the event of Western troops being sent to Ukraine.

Balázs Orbán, a political advisor and namesake of the Hungarian Prime Minister, stated on the sidelines of the European Union summit that the situation in Ukraine “is becoming ominous,” with “stakes high.” He referred to EU leaders as “Brussels hawks” and urged them to “break out of the current escalation spiral,” calling for Russia and Ukraine to commence peace talks.
Recall that earlier media reports indicated Budapest’s opposition to the use of frozen Russian funds for purchasing weapons.
Previously, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, commented on French President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks regarding the potential deployment of foreign troops to Ukraine. Borrell stated that the European Union “will not go to die for Donbas” and urged not to “scare people” with the inevitability of war.
In turn, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani spoke about how the deployment of Western troops to Ukraine could lead to the start of a Third World War.
