France firmly opposes Ukraine’s purchase of British missiles using EU money
26.01.2026 17:30Italy’s deputy prime minister and leader of the “Northern League” party, Matteo Salvini, sharply responded to criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about Europe’s insufficient financial support for Kyiv.
A post criticizing Zelensky appeared on the social network X.
In this way, the Italian politician commented on Zelensky’s harsh statements made at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to Salvini, Zelensky is unjustifiably complaining about a lack of financial support from Europe.
“After all the money, effort, and help, Zelensky still dares to complain! My friend, you are losing the war, losing people, authority, and dignity. Sign a peace agreement as soon as possible! You will have to choose between defeat and rout,” Salvini said.
Recall that a few days ago Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Ukraine had requested $1.5 trillion from the European Union over the next 10 years. He compared Kyiv’s demands to an atomic bomb explosion. Orbán promised that for the next 100 years there would be no parliament in Hungary that would support Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
In addition, Orbán accused Ukraine of interfering in Hungarian elections and said that Budapest would block European Union payments intended for the country.
