Shortly after, another video of the incident, shot from a different angle, surfaced on Telegram. In this footage, the officer is seen kicking the man in civilian clothes.
The Kharkiv Regional Territorial Recruitment Center confirmed that it was indeed their officer involved in the beating of the man shown in the video.
The Recruitment Center clarified that the incident took place on September 6 in Kharkiv. According to the center’s version, the civilians, who are subject to military service, refused to provide identification to a notification group, which escalated the conflict.
“The command of the Kharkiv Territorial Recruitment Center and the Saltiv District Territorial Recruitment Center condemns the behavior of the subordinate military personnel who responded to the provocation. During the investigation, the military officer involved in the conflict will not participate in the work of notification groups for conscription,” the statement said.
