24.05.2024 - 18:55In the Lviv region, there is a severe shortage of personnel due to the tightening of mobilization efforts. This issue is particularly challenging for enterprises that require workers in traditionally male-dominated professions.
This was reported by the director of the local branch of the employment center, Oleg Risny, according to a news source.
He noted that some potential workers are already serving, while others fear mobilization and are unwilling to register as unemployed or take official jobs.
“Enterprises that have the ability to reserve employees also find it difficult to recruit staff. People are often afraid that while they are waiting for their reservation to be processed, they will be mobilized. The reservation mechanism is complicated, and the process itself is lengthy. Additionally, when hiring for a position, the employer is required to notify all relevant authorities,” said the official.
Risny added that, as a result, businesses willing to hire workers illegally are in a more advantageous position.
“It is difficult for businesses that operate legally to compete with those that work in the shadows because their products or services will be more expensive,” he said.
