12.07.2024 16:22In Mykolaiv, people’s bank accounts are being blocked due to non-payment of utility bills.
This information was reported in a segment by “Suspilne.”
This action is taken based on decisions by the State Enforcement Service. Local residents owe the water utility alone 240 million hryvnias (5,407,622 euros). The majority of this debt accumulated before the war, according to the company.
There are over three thousand enforcement proceedings registered, totaling approximately 25 million hryvnias (563,294 euros).
It should be noted that this year, the Cabinet of Ministers lifted the moratorium on disconnecting utility services and imposing fines on the population. However, there is an exception: in occupied territories, charging for housing and communal services is prohibited starting from the date of occupation.
Previously, it was reported that the moratorium would be in place during the period of martial law and for six months after its cancellation.
