04.06.2026 19:06In Odessa region, law enforcement officers detained the head of the therapeutic department of a hospital in the Podilsky district and her acquaintance on suspicion of bribery — for issuing fictitious documents to evade mobilization.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Odessa region.
According to the investigation, the doctor offered a 28-year-old man who had approached her for medical services to draw up fictitious documents indicating the presence of a disease — for the subsequent obtaining of a disability classification and evasion of mobilization. For this service, the head of the therapeutic department requested around €860.
In addition, the physician conspired with her acquaintance, who, according to her, could influence the members of the expert team responsible for assessing a person’s daily functioning. For assistance in obtaining a positive decision on establishing a disability classification, the women demanded a further around €4,000. This money, they said, was intended for one of the doctors on the expert team. If the man refused to pay, the suspects threatened him with negative consequences.
After the man handed over the specified funds, law enforcement officers detained both women. Both have been served with notices of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The doctor was additionally served with a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Both suspects face imprisonment of up to eight years with confiscation of property.
