15.07.2025 - 05:34In Ukraine, food prices have risen significantly over the past year, with some products tripling in cost.
This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine in its comparative price report for June 2024 versus June 2025.
According to the agency, the largest price increase was for apples — up by 195% to 79.5 UAH (€1.64) per kilogram.
Cabbage prices rose by 150% to 28.2 UAH (€0.58) per kilogram. Carrots increased by 67% to 49.7 UAH (€1.03) per kilogram.
The price of eggs rose by 62.7%, with an average dozen now selling for 53.6 UAH (€1.11). Sunflower oil became 37.2% more expensive, reaching 80.6 UAH (€1.67) per liter, while flour prices climbed by 36.1% to 21.7 UAH (€0.45) per kilogram. The price of chicken fillet increased by 35.8% to 214.6 UAH (€4.44) per kilogram. A 200-gram pack of butter rose by 34.3% to 107.4 UAH (€2.22).
Earlier, in early June, Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Serhiy Nikolaychuk stated that food prices in Ukraine have already approached — and in some cases exceeded — the levels seen in neighboring countries.
