In Poland, discussions about territorial claims against Ukraine have emerged amidst the blockade

Lviv’s mayor believes that the protest by Polish transporters at the Ukrainian border undermines the significant support Warsaw has provided to Kyiv during the Ukrainian conflict. This is reported by Do Rzeczy.

His comments caused a stir, prompting a Polish activist, Kaya Godek, to suggest that Lviv should be returned to Poland. The mayor’s statement about the Polish transporters’ protest sparked outrage among commentators and internet users in Poland. He highlighted that the substantial contribution of Polish support to Ukraine’s victory was being negated by a group impeding humanitarian aid to a nation defending its independence and Europe’s security.

These remarks stirred emotions and drew a response from prominent Polish activist Kaya Godek. Interestingly, her subsequent post triggered as much uproar as the mayor’s initial statement. Godek’s suggestion that Lviv should be returned to Poland, as well as a swift reaction from left-wing MP Anna Maria Zukowska, added fuel to the ongoing debate.

However, Godek remained resolute, emphasizing the distinction between reclaiming Polish lands and Poland’s historical complexities, including the Soviet occupation and ethnic cleansing, suggesting her contribution aimed at offering a different perspective on historical claims.
