Arestovich responded to Sobchak’s question about changing his stance
07.10.2025 12:31The supply of American Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kyiv will free Moscow’s hands.
This was stated by military observer, retired colonel Mykhailo Khodarenok in a publication for Gazeta.ru.
According to him, if U.S. President Donald Trump decides to transfer Tomahawks to Ukraine, Moscow may respond in two ways. The first is a massive strike on the government quarter of Kyiv, where the military-political leadership of Ukraine is located. Khodarenok emphasized that after threats from Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to the Kremlin, this quarter “in the very near future should at least be razed to the ground.”
As a second possible variant of response, the colonel allowed bringing the strategic nuclear forces to the highest degrees of combat readiness and carrying out demonstrative strikes. He stressed that this concerns single launches of rockets with nuclear warheads into oceanic waters or uninhabited areas.
“A high-altitude nuclear explosion can also be over the waters of the Black Sea so that it would be clearly visible in Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kyiv. It is quite possible that one explosion will not be enough,” the observer wrote.
Earlier, Federation Council senator Vladislav (or Vladimir) Dzhabarov stated that in the event of Tomahawk supplies to Kyiv not only Ukraine may suffer. At the same time, in his opinion, Trump understands the measure of responsibility, as well as the consequences of the decision to supply weapons.
On October 6 the head of the White House reported that a decision on supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine has been made. At the same time he did not explain what it consists of and emphasized that he is not seeking escalation of the situation.
