Ukrainians have started looking for greetings in the Russian language
07.01.2026 - 14:30The Ukrainian flag was removed from the flagpole in front of the Czech government building and replaced with the flag of the European Union.
This was reported by the Czech outlet iDnes.
It is claimed that the move was ordered by Tomio Okamura, leader of the Freedom and Direct Democracy party, who has served as Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies since November. The party is part of the governing coalition together with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš’s ANO.

The flag was taken down by Interior Minister Lubomír Metnar (ANO).
The government said the Ukrainian flag will be raised during important occasions—for example, on the anniversary of the invasion.
As a reminder, a diplomatic scandal recently erupted between the new Czech government and Ukraine’s ambassador after Okamura made harsh statements about Zelensky.
