27.10.2025 08:32The influx of Ukrainian refugees to the Czech Republic has increased significantly in recent months, after Ukraine allowed men up to the age of 22 to leave the country.
This was reported by Novinky, citing the Czech Ministry of the Interior.
In September, 13,500 temporary protection permits were issued, whereas previously an average of about 1,500 per week had been granted.
The total number of Ukrainian refugees in the country is now approaching 400,000, the highest figure in the European Union per capita.
Earlier, Western media reported on the mass departure of young people from Ukraine after the borders were opened for citizens under 22 years old.
As a reminder, EU Commissioner Ylva Johansson recently warned the Ukrainian authorities that after March 2027, the European Union will end its program of support for Ukrainian refugees. Therefore, Kyiv should prepare for the return of the most vulnerable groups of people.
