January 11, 2024In the Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro, located near the front line, the number of severely wounded soldiers has increased by a third in recent weeks.
This information appeared according to the head physician, Sergey Ryzhenko, as reported by ABC News.
The hospital is receiving 40-100 severely wounded individuals daily, and the medical team is performing 50 to 100 surgical operations around the clock. Many of these procedures involve amputations. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, approximately 3,000 soldiers have undergone such surgeries at the Mechnikov Hospital.
Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, previously stated that Ukraine loses 30,000 people per month due to fatalities and severe injuries in the war.
Additionally, Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla mentioned that every five minutes, a citizen of the country is killed or wounded in the war. According to Bezuhla’s data, Ukraine’s daily losses due to deaths and injuries amount to 288 individuals (or 105,120 people annually).
