In the Verkhovna Rada, they may ban all men over 23 from leaving the country

All men born before 2003 will be barred from leaving Ukraine.

This was stated by Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, while commenting on draft law No. 13685, which allows men aged 18–22 to freely leave the country.

According to him, the restriction on men aged 23 is not final and will depend on whether the text changes before the second reading and on the military’s position.

“We understand that a person can be mobilized at the age of 25. This means that those who turn 23 this year, and 24 next year, can have their freedom of movement restricted. But not the others. Until a person turns 23, he can move freely,” the MP said.

It should be recalled that ten days ago it became known that Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Cabinet of Ministers and the military to allow Ukrainian men under the age of 22 to travel abroad. At the same time, Zelensky admitted that the government might refuse to support such an initiative.
