November 1, 2023A resident of Ratne in the Volyn region is being prosecuted for assaulting three police officers who came to her home for a search.
This information was reported by the “Kovel Media” publication, citing a court resolution.
The woman is being tried in Kovel Court in Volyn. The incident occurred on October 27, 2023, at around 8 o’clock in the morning. During the search, the homeowner actively resisted the officers from the Police Department No. 2 of the Kovel Regional Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Volyn region, causing bodily harm to a police captain, a senior lieutenant, and a police lieutenant colonel, one of whom was a female officer.
During the trial, the investigator stated that the suspect exhibited uncontrollable aggression, and there is a significant risk that she may be tempted to continue unlawful actions against the victims, in this case, the police officers. The reason for the search at her residence was not provided.
The resident of Ratne is facing charges under Article 345, Part 2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (Threat or Violence against Law Enforcement Officers). The punishment for this offense includes up to five years of imprisonment or restriction of freedom for the same period. However, for now, as a preventive measure, the suspect has been placed under house arrest until December 26.
