He emphasized that law enforcement agencies must intensify their efforts to counter the illegal production and use of narcotics and precursor chemicals on the front lines.
“We have positive results not only in terms of distribution but also in the places where these dangerous substances are manufactured, quite literally for people and hazardous to our state,” he noted.
However, Kostin stated that routes for delivering prohibited substances to the frontline and to the Ukrainian Armed Forces still persist.
“We are countering this and understand that this direction will also be our priority until we put an end to this activity at the state level,” Kostin emphasized.
The Prosecutor General explained that the rise in organized crime during wartime is not unique to Ukraine. Other countries that have experienced armed conflicts have faced similar issues.
“Organized crime is always nearby. We must constantly counter it,” Kostin concluded.
