In Ukraine, they have arrested a deputy who helped draft dodgers leave the country

In the Chernivtsi region of Ukraine, law enforcement authorities have detained a deputy who was assisting draft evaders in leaving the country.

This was reported by Ukrainian media, citing their own sources within law enforcement agencies.

“The National Police of Ukraine, in collaboration with border guards, exposed a criminal group that was smuggling Ukrainians of draft age across the border,” as reported in the media.

It is noted that a deputy of the Dniester District Council was apprehended while transporting two men in his car. They had planned to illegally take these individuals abroad to help them avoid conscription. Additionally, it is mentioned that the deputy was acting in collusion with unidentified individuals.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detained individual for organizing and facilitating the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine. Search operations are underway, and a request for a pre-trial measure is being prepared.
