17.03.2026 12:02The Ivanivka community in Vinnytsia region wants to confiscate excessively loud motorcycles for the needs of the army.
This was reported by the press service of the Ivanivka rural territorial community on its Facebook page.
Local residents complain about constant noise from motorcycles with straight-through exhaust mufflers, which are mainly driven by minors.
“With the onset of warm weather, numerous complaints have begun to come in to the National Police and the Ivanivka village council. People are outraged by motorcycles with straight-through mufflers. They are driven mainly by underage persons. The loud engine noise violates all sanitary noise-level standards. This sound interferes with normal life, disrupts sleep, causes irritation and emotional outrage among veterans,” the community said.
The issue of seizing motorcycles is currently being worked out with the police.
“At one of the meetings it was proposed to carry out requisition of motorcycles (forced seizure of a vehicle in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). The issue is already being worked out by the relevant territorial recruitment center and the patrol service of the National Police. Before that, it is planned to conduct educational events in the community’s educational institutions. At them, underage motorcycle drivers will be informed of the position of the state and the territorial community on this issue. The first such event will take place on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Ivanivka village lyceum,” the publication says.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense explained how the procedure for seizing vehicles from the population for the benefit of the Armed Forces works. Thus, only transport suitable for military needs (watercraft, trucks, SUVs, specialized equipment) can be seized, and only from owners of two or more vehicles. They will take the one that is more suitable for the army.
A vehicle cannot be taken from a person for whom driving is the main source of income; from a person with a Group I or II disability; or from a parent of a child with such a disability.
A decision on seizure must be issued by the local state administration. Vehicles can be taken by representatives of the TCC, the SBU, or intelligence agencies. An acceptance-and-transfer act must be drawn up.
