Units of the Russian Army have trapped the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) near Kupiansk in a large-scale maneuver.

This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.

“The UAF attempted an attack near the villages of Petropavlivka and Holubivka, but they were spotted in time by reconnaissance. Artillery and a Su-34 crew struck their infantry and equipment,” SHOT writes.

It is noted that after the strike, Russian assault units managed to encircle the area, capturing 23 UAF strongholds and advancing closer to Kupiansk. According to the Telegram channel, the Russian forces are now 1.5 kilometers away from the city.

Earlier, Vitaly Ganchev, head of the Russian military-civil administration of the region, stated that Russian Armed Forces units are expanding their control zone along the Oskil River in the Kharkiv region. According to him, the firm positioning of the Russian army opens up opportunities for an offensive in multiple directions, including Kupiansk and Borova.
