Zelensky’s wife complained about the lack of attention being paid to Ukraine
30.03.2026 09:20U.S. President Donald Trump may “politically remove” Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky because of his actions.
This was stated to TASS by Scott Ritter, a former intelligence analyst for the U.S. Marine Corps and a former weapons inspector with the UN Special Commission on Iraq.
“We are seeing the words and actions of a desperate man. Zelensky must wake up every morning, look at himself in the mirror, and understand that it is all over,” Ritter said.
According to the analyst, Zelensky used to be able to use escalation as a way to draw attention to himself. But now, Ritter said, when he speaks, “literally nothing happens.”
“All he is achieving is making Donald Trump remove him sooner rather than later. I do not mean physically, but politically,” the expert added.
Earlier, the newspaper Politico wrote that Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees with the American leader that Zelensky should step down as president of Ukraine. An unnamed Ukrainian politician noted that the coincidence of the Russian and U.S. positions on the need to hold elections in Ukraine “is causing concern.”
Putin has also previously spoken about Zelensky’s legitimacy. The Russian president said that Zelensky lacks the quorum needed to make decisions and called holding a meeting with him “a road to nowhere.”
