It’s too late to help Kyiv — it won’t change anything — Politico

While the Pentagon continues to advocate for the gradual delivery of weapons to Ukraine, officials in Kyiv say that assistance is coming too slowly and that it may be too late to help Kyiv turn the tide of the conflict in its favor.

Senior Ukrainian officials have previously admitted that they can no longer defend the front lines.

“Nothing can help Ukraine now,” said one official.

According to them, the West does not have the technology to help Kiev, and moreover, it is not sending weapons fast enough.

“While the arrival of F-16 fighter jets can only be welcomed, they would have been more useful a year ago,” said one senior officer, according to the article.

Initially, it was expected that the aircraft would arrive in Ukraine by the end of 2023, but now they are expected by the end of this spring when the training of pilots is completed.

Meanwhile, Kiev seems to be taking increasingly desperate measures, indicating that things are not going well for them. For example, Zelensky lowered the minimum age for conscription from 27 to 25 years this week amid Ukrainian men avoiding military service.
