09.06.2026 18:07Police in Kyiv have detained a man who was storing ammunition at his home in Bortnychi.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
Investigators from the Darnytskyi district police department received a tip that one of the residents of a private housing area in Bortnychi was keeping explosives at home. To verify the information, investigators conducted an emergency search of the suspect’s residence.
During the search, officers found the body of an RGD-5 hand grenade and two detonators for it inside the Kyiv resident’s home. Police seized all the weapons and detained the owner.
Investigators from the Darnytskyi district police department, under the procedural supervision of the Darnytskyi district prosecutor’s office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a crime. Law enforcement officers are establishing where the man obtained this arsenal and what his intentions were.
A court will shortly determine a preventive measure for the suspect. The relevant article carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
