Kyiv’s gyms and sports halls emptied due to military draft raids

Some gyms in Kyiv have already emptied out after raids by territorial recruitment centers issuing conscription notices to visitors.

A video from one of these gyms is being circulated on social media.

“So, here’s the deal: when the territorial recruitment center employees scared everyone away, all the gyms are empty. Everyone ran off except me,” says a man in the video.

Meanwhile, today, military officials visited one of the capital’s ‘Sportlife’ chain clubs in Pozniaky. According to gym staff, the military representatives have already left the premises.

“Today, representatives from the territorial recruitment center were at our club, but they’re not here anymore. You can come to the gym and work out peacefully,” said the administrator over the phone.

However, ‘Sportlife’ employees cannot guarantee that such raids won’t happen again.

“Right now, I can’t guarantee anything; we haven’t been informed yet,” noted the administrator.
