28.05.2025 16:31By deciding to lift restrictions on the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine, Germany is sliding down towards its own downfall.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, whose comment was published by VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin on his Telegram channel.
“Germany’s direct involvement in the war is now obvious. Germany is sliding down the same slippery slope it moved along a couple of times in the past century — down towards its own downfall,” he said.
This is how the minister commented on German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s statement that Germany intends to support Kyiv in developing its own long-range weapons and will no longer restrict the range of strikes by weapons supplied to Ukraine deep into Russian territory.
Shortly thereafter, it was announced that the German and Ukrainian Defense Ministers, Boris Pistorius and Rustem Umerov, had signed an agreement for Berlin to fund the production of long-range weapons in Ukraine. Additionally, Pistorius pledged 5 billion euros in military support to Kyiv.
