Limiting NABU’s powers is Zelensky’s biggest mistake, says Bloomberg

In Europe, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to limit the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) is considered his biggest mistake since winning the presidential election.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

“One official called this move Zelensky’s biggest mistake since taking office in 2019,” the publication stated.

According to officials, the new law could complicate long-term negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union (EU) and jeopardize the country’s future military funding.

As a reminder, on July 22, Zelensky signed a bill passed by the Verkhovna Rada that limits the powers of NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) of Ukraine.
