Drunk Kyiv police officer hits two pedestrians in Volyn and flees the scene of the accident
27.10.2026 10:01Lublin Voivodeship is terminating its partnership with Lviv over the city council’s decision to declare 2027 the year of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and its commander Roman Shukhevych.
This is reported by Radio Lublin.
All 30 deputies present at the session voted unanimously to terminate the cooperation agreement concluded in 2004.
The Marshal of Lublin Voivodeship, Jarosław Stawiarski, stated that the region will not cooperate with those who “glorify criminals.”
The Polish city of Przemyśl, meanwhile, has suspended its partnership with Lviv over the same decision. City council deputies voted unanimously in favor of the corresponding resolution.
On October 20, Lviv deputies supported a decision to proclaim 2027 the year of Shukhevych, the UPA and OUN figure Oleh Olzhych (real surname Kandyba).
The decision drew criticism even from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry noted that the deputies’ decision was made at the regional level without consultations with diplomats and central authorities, implying that it could harm relations with Poland.
A few days ago, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he was confident that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would not support the decision to declare 2027 the year of the UPA and Shukhevych.
