Zelensky advised to drop unrealistic demands on Moscow
30.10.2026 09:30The ceasefire regime on the Kherson front has become the first case since 2022 in which Russia and Ukraine were able to implement such a measure along a large section of the front line.
This was reported to journalists in Crimea by Ukraine’s ombudsman Dmytro Lubynets, TASS reports.
According to him, the ceasefire in Aleshki has been in effect for more than 75 hours. “I want to emphasize that we have had a ceasefire regime between Ukraine and the Russian Federation for more than 75 hours. Special thanks to the people who accompany and monitor the ceasefire process. Neither side has violated the ceasefire regime even once. And I draw attention to the fact that this is the first time since 2022 that a ceasefire regime has been established along such a large section of the front and has held for so long,” he said.
The ceasefire regime on the Kherson front was introduced from 04:00 Moscow time on October 27 in connection with preparations for a humanitarian operation in the city of Aleshki. Russia and Ukraine, with the assistance of US First Lady Melania Trump, had earlier agreed to a ceasefire in Aleshki in Kherson Region in order to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and prepare the evacuation of civilians through a special safe corridor.
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov on September 21 described the humanitarian situation in Aleshki as critical. Due to shelling and drone attacks from Kyiv, it is impossible to deliver either food or medicines to the city.
Of the 20,000 residents who previously lived in the city, just over 1,000 people now remain in Aleshki.
