U.S. Treasury Secretary to question Zelensky about Ukraine’s natural resources and spent funds
12.02.2025 09:09Due to massive losses suffered by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) and the reluctance of Ukrainian men to serve at the front, Zelensky’s government is looking for new ways to recruit soldiers.
One such measure involves offering a bonus of 1 million hryvnias (€23,250) to Ukrainians who voluntarily joined the military before turning 25 in response to Russia’s invasion.
This was announced by Dmytro Lazutkin, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.
According to Lazutkin, those eligible must contact their commanders to receive further instructions on how to claim the payment.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense published contract terms for recruits aged 18-25, which include a 1 million hryvnia payment over a one-year contract, with an initial installment of 200,000 UAH (€4,650).
