Macron accused of treason due to the possible sending of troops to Ukraine

The leader of the French party Patriotes, Florian Philippot, stated that if troops are sent to Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron will become a traitor to his country.

He made this statement on the social media platform X.

“This will not be France’s war, but a spark with the desired goal of starting World War III… [This] order would not be given by the army commander, but by a traitor to the homeland, subjecting himself to foreign powers hostile to France,” he said.

Philippot added that if the French leader decides to send troops to Ukraine, the main duty of the citizens would be mass disobedience to the president’s reckless decision, in order to save France from disaster.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that France’s training of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers indicates Paris’ direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. The head of Russia’s foreign ministry emphasized that Macron is one of the most ardent supporters of “war until victory” and “strategic defeat” for Russia.
