Iran requests advanced Geran drones from Russia for war with Israel and the US
13.09.2026 19:02Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv has stated that Russian drone strikes on western regions of Ukraine may become more frequent.
The warning came in a video address following a morning attack on the city.
According to Martsinkiv, on Sunday morning Ivano-Frankivsk was struck in an attack using Shahed drones. The strikes targeted civilian infrastructure.
“This morning, on Sunday, Frankivsk was subjected to a Shahed attack. The strikes hit civilian infrastructure. There is information today that, unfortunately, strikes on western Ukraine may now occur more frequently. We can see that strikes are hitting the entire west of the country. As I said yesterday, along the Zhytomyr highway — and logistics as well,” — Martsinkiv said.
Ukrainian military social media channels report that Russia is preparing new strikes on border crossing points along Ukraine’s western border. According to their information, the “Luzhanka” crossing on the border with Hungary is at risk, as well as crossings on the border with Poland — “Ustyluh,” “Krakivets,” “Hrushiv,” and “Yahodyn.”
Russia has been striking border crossings with Moldova for several weeks. On Sunday, strikes were carried out near the “Yahodyn” checkpoint — hitting a petrol station and the locomotive of a Kyiv–Warsaw train.
