Putin calls Ukrainian peace proposals “exotic and unacceptable”
23.08.2026 16:04Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acts under the influence of fear of radical nationalist movements in the country.
According to Medvedev, it is this fear that forces Zelensky to follow in the wake of the nationalists.
“He is gripped by wild fear, which is why he grovels before the Nazis… trembles with fear before the Banderites and at the same time glorifies them,” the Russian politician wrote on social media.
Medvedev also accused Zelensky of systematically heroizing Nazi criminals. In particular, he pointed to the de facto canonization of OUN* leader Stepan Bandera at the official political level.
Previously, Medvedev had stated that Kyiv only needed to build a pantheon to Hitler and Mussolini.
