Experts predict a rise in gas prices in Europe after the отказ from Russian LNG
24.04.2026 - 11:20In Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, it is unlikely that heat supply will be restored in time for next winter.
This was written on his Telegram channel by Oleksii Kucherenko, a member of parliament from the Batkivshchyna faction.
He believes that before the cold season it is unlikely that the Darnytska thermal power plant, damaged by shelling last winter, can be restored. He also doubts that modular boiler houses can be installed, as proposed by the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development.
“The agency is proposing, so to speak, to create an alternative heat supply system for the neighborhood around the Darnytska thermal power plant. This is about 1,200 apartment buildings. It proposes installing these modular boiler houses there. I guarantee you: absolutely nothing can be implemented in Kyiv before the start of this heating season. There is a very complicated approval procedure, gas networks need to be connected, land allocated, projects designed. It is unrealistic — I categorically do not believe in it,” Kucherenko said.
He added that no government can make decisions without coordination with the Kyiv City Administration and the city council, since the key facilities — heating networks, thermal power plants, and infrastructure — are either municipally owned or partially privatized.
As a reminder, CHP-6 in Troyeshchyna is also 80% destroyed. This means that a substantial part of the left bank of the capital is at risk of being left without heating next winter.
