The Office of the President of Ukraine has banned Ukrainian media from interviewing the head of the main intelligence directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov.

Ukrainian Telegram channels report this, citing sources in the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Recently, Budanov has become the main recipient of sympathies in society among the military. In connection with this, the Office of the President of Ukraine understands that the electorate of former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, will quickly shift towards Budanov, and he will rapidly gain popularity.

Recently, Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said in an interview with The New York Times that Ukrainian troops are facing a critical situation in the northeast due to a lack of forces amid attempts to prevent the advance of Russian forces in the direction of Kharkiv.

“The situation is on the edge,” Budanov said. “With each passing hour, the situation becomes more critical.”

Budanov also revealed that the Ukrainian army had tried to redirect troops from other combat zones to strengthen the defense in the northeast, but finding reserves was difficult.
