November 12, 2024Doctors in military medical commissions (MMC) have reportedly been instructed to deem all conscripts fit for service.
This claim was made during a press conference by Anna Skorokhod, a member of parliament and chair of the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada on military issues.
“Doctors have repeatedly told us – and they have helped us informally – that they have received an order stating that everyone is fit. Those considered unfit are treated as a separate caste. This should not be happening,” Skorokhod stated.
Earlier today, another MP, Oleksandr Fediyenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, wrote that a new Ministry of Defense order has led to the conscription of deaf individuals, people with HIV, active tuberculosis, and other severe illnesses.
“Recently, a deaf person was mobilized, as well as an individual whose MMC report listed ‘intellectual disability of a certain degree, complicated speech impairment, partial brain atrophy, etc.,’” the MP reported.
According to him, even at the territorial recruitment center, staff referred to Order No. 402 as “complete nonsense.”
