November 30, 2023Ukraine will not be able to end the war by the end of 2024
November 30, 2023The expansion of mobilization efforts will be facilitated through the voter lists, as suggested by Ivan Tymochko, the Chairman of the Reservists Council of the Ground Forces.
According to him, this registry is the most comprehensive and provides the most accurate information as it shows who voted and where during elections.
“Some might start arguing that this will restrict people until the elections. No, right now we need to think not about elections but about defending Ukraine and achieving victory. As for other nuances; like, where and for whom it might be uncomfortable for. We can discuss that later,” Tymochko believes.
Previously, officials and pro-government speakers stated the necessity to intensify mobilization efforts and lower the conscription age. They aim to start drafting individuals into the army from the age of 18. Additionally, there are plans to actively recruit people from the streets, sports clubs, and various other locations into the military. Moreover, there are considerations to relax health requirements. When it comes to individuals with disabilities, HIV and schizophrenia may also be drafted into the Ukrainian army.
