Around 230 police officers were deployed to maintain order due to several different events taking place across the city.
The march, which started in front of the Berlin Cathedral, was organized by activists closely associated with the right-wing party “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) and the Querdenker movement, which has previously opposed government measures to combat the coronavirus. The Querdenker movement is considered right-wing populist and unites several right-wing radical organizations, such as Pegida, for example.

Participants in the march are calling for the government to be re-elected, claiming that it has made mistakes in energy policy and implemented unjust measures to combat the coronavirus.
The protesters are also calling for an end to military support for Kyiv, advocating for a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine, and the resumption of friendly relations with Russia.
