Most supporters of a referendum on a peace agreement support withdrawing Ukrainian troops from Donbas
17.03.2026 05:02MP Danylo Hetmantsev from the Servant of the People party accused people controlled by Andrii Yermak of causing the Verkhovna Rada to refuse to vote for key draft laws needed to obtain foreign loans.
He voiced the criticism on his Telegram channel, commenting on a post by the anonymous channel “Kartkovyi Ofis”, which is linked to Bankova political strategist Volodymyr Petrov.
The post claimed that MPs, “together with U.S. President Donald Trump,” are pushing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to surrender Donbas to the Russians, and therefore are not voting for key bills.
In response, Hetmantsev called Petrov “Yermak’s devil,” who “campaigns for endless war” while “dodging mobilization at the cemetery” (a reference to a story about Petrov receiving a mobilization exemption). Hetmantsev accused the “gang” of the former head of the Presidential Office of blocking parliament’s work.
“And no, this is not the voice of Bankova and not the voice of the president, although it wants to appear as such. This is the voice of Yermak and Co.’s gang that has not been cleared out of power, which, by the way, has become the main catalyst and root cause of what is happening in the Verkhovna Rada today,” Hetmantsev wrote.
Earlier, media reported that in recent months the problem of lacking votes to pass these bills has worsened. The main reason cited is the refusal of a significant portion of Servant of the People MPs to vote—using this “strike” to pressure anti-corruption bodies to stop investigations involving dozens of MPs from the faction.
