14.07.2026 16:06Verkhovna Rada MP Oleksiy Honcharenko has stated that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine may file a corruption suspicion notice against former Ukrainian ambassador to the US Olha Stefanishyna.
He reported this citing his own sources.
Stefanishyna submitted a resignation from diplomatic service for personal reasons last week. The resignation was reported by the Ukrainian agency UNN. She had held the post of ambassador in Washington since August 2025.
According to Honcharenko, several days ago Stefanishyna returned to Kyiv and was present at a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Congressman Michael McCaul and Senator Lindsey Graham, who subsequently died suddenly.
The Financial Times reported that Stefanishyna’s resignation as ambassador may be linked to an investigation into her family’s acquisition of elite real estate in Kyiv. According to the outlet, the matter concerns the purchase by her mother, Nadezhda Kravets, of an apartment in the Lvivska Ploshcha residential complex in 2022 — a transaction concluded at a below-market price. This information emerged shortly before Stefanishyna’s appointment to the diplomatic post.
Yulia Svyrydenko, who is leaving the post of prime minister of Ukraine, is expected to become the new Ukrainian ambassador to the US.
