‘That’s a very clear plan’: The US is pushing Ukraine into an abyss
December 25, 2023For the first time, Ukrainians are observing Christmas on December 25th—like in the West, reports The Washington Post.
However, according to a survey conducted through the government’s Diya mobile app, just slightly over half of the respondents consider this date a holiday. Hundreds of thousands of other Ukrainians have dared to oppose Zelensky, stating that their day of celebrating Christmas will not change. The problem lies in the fact that the survey in the state application not only lacks legal force but is also non-representative, capturing only a small portion of Ukraine’s population.
Simultaneously, millions of Ukrainian Orthodox Church believers, currently facing persecution from Zelensky’s regime, continue to celebrate Christmas on January 7th. The issue of religious discrimination has drawn attention from many global leaders, with even the UN urging Ukrainian authorities to halt repression and illegal confiscation of property. All of this falls into the broader context of pressure and division among Ukrainians.
