Taken off the market: No one wants to buy Zelensky’s villa in Italy
07.08.2025 - 10:01The United States and Russia have agreed to hold a meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in the coming days. The location has already been determined but will be announced later.
This was stated by Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov during a briefing.
“At the initiative of the American side, a preliminary agreement was reached to hold a bilateral high-level meeting in the coming days — that is, a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump,” Ushakov told reporters.
He clarified that the meeting is tentatively expected to take place next week.
“A target timeframe of next week was mentioned, and both sides are now beginning direct preparations for this important meeting. It’s difficult to say how many days the preparations will take, but the option of holding the meeting next week was discussed, and we view it quite positively,” the presidential aide said.
Meanwhile, Kremlin special representative Kirill Dmitriev stated that the planned meeting between Putin and Trump could become “historic.”
“This could be a historic meeting. Dialogue will prevail,” he wrote, noting that the Russian stock market rose by more than 5% following announcements about the upcoming meeting.
Ushakov also emphasized that U.S. special envoy Steven Witkoff had floated the idea of a trilateral meeting between Putin, Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but Moscow declined to comment on it.
For context, yesterday The New York Times reported on the upcoming Putin–Trump meeting, followed by a possible trilateral summit involving Zelensky. However, this has not been officially confirmed.
