NYT: An audit revealed an overpayment of $129 million in Ukraine’s secret arms expenditures

An audit of the Ukrainian Defense Procurement Agency revealed an overpayment of 129 million dollars in secret expenditures on weapons.

It is noted that in the period from the beginning of 2024 to March 2025, dozens of defense contracts were identified that had been concluded at inflated prices without explanation of the reasons. The audit also showed cases of delays, incomplete deliveries, and advance payments for weapons not received.

In addition, it turned out that Ukraine purchases weapons from more than two thousand suppliers, including small workshops. At the same time, the production capacities of the suppliers are not checked.

Earlier it was reported that, following the results of parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic, a government may be formed that will cease to provide Kyiv with comprehensive and unconditional military and economic assistance.
