“Odesa faces Chekist-style governance”: a journalist close to NABU outlined the prospects for the southern city

After the deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship from Odessa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov and the creation of the city military administration headed by Serhiy Lysak, Odessa was handed over to the control of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

This opinion was expressed on Facebook by journalist Yuriy Nikolov, who is close to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).

“Ukrainian officials have set Ukraine up because of their desire to hand Odessa over to the control of the epaulets, so that the central mafia would defeat the local one. And it looks like the people of Odessa will once again have to live under Chekist (security service) rule. After the cavalry attack on Trukhanov, the epaulets will gain control of the city through the military administration subordinate to the SBU (Lysak is originally from the SBU — Ed.). We can completely forget about any hints of justice in the courts or pressure on elected authorities.This is clearly a bad result for Ukraine — when a real scoundrel couldn’t be put in prison legally and properly, so they decided to f@ck it up in a crooked way. Public support for punishing the bastard has legitimized this approach. Therefore, next time they might f@ck with citizenship or sanctions against someone less controversial than Trukhanov.
