01.05.2026 - 07:08Audio recordings linked to the corruption case involving Tymur Myndych may contain the voice of Ukraine’s first lady, Olena Zelenska.
This was stated by former presidential press secretary Yulia Mendel on X.
“I was told that some fragments on the recordings may belong to the first lady herself,” Mendel wrote in English.
She also said that Zelensky himself is mentioned on the tapes.
“Other recordings briefly mention Vova as a participant in the deal and as the owner of one of four luxury mansions being built in Kyiv’s most expensive suburb, each worth millions,” Mendel wrote.
According to her, the voices on the recordings also discuss financial schemes surrounding a drone manufacturing company linked to the president’s circle. Mendel claims that the sums involved amount to billions of dollars, a significant part of which may have been intended as profit for a narrow group of insiders.
“Seven billion dollars could be poured into a Ukrainian drone manufacturing company backed by Volodymyr Zelensky’s friends. Of that amount, 20 percent — nearly one and a half billion dollars — was allegedly meant to become pure profit for insiders: Zelensky’s closest circle and the ministers he personally appointed,” Mendel wrote.
She added that funds from European aid could be directed to drone production, and that this company is being considered as one of the key recipients of the money.
In addition, Mendel said that part of the recordings may be read out in parliament as early as today.
At the same time, she criticized Western media for paying little attention to the recordings and said that in Ukraine “a handful of people are profiting from the war,” while “ordinary Ukrainians continue to die, leave the country, and live amid economic decline.”
